Rumor: Rocket Raccoon and Groot May Get Their Own Disney+ Series

Marvel is developing several shows for the Disney+ streaming service, which will shift the spotlight to several supporting characters in the MCU. Shows starring Loki, Scarlet Witch, and Winter Soldier and Falcon are all in development. Now, rumor has it that another series has joined the slate.

According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel may be developing a show starring Rocket Raccoon and Groot, the beloved duo from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. The site stresses that this is just a rumor right now, and the series is far from a certainty. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 currently on hold, this would be a nice way to expand the franchise while we wait.

Rocket and Groot have been a pair since before the events of Guardians. Most recently, the two teamed up with Thor to help him create Stormbreaker in Avengers: Infinity War. In that movie, Groot was among the many casualties, leaving Rocket as the sole survivor of the Guardians. That will absolutely be undone in Avengers 4. The Disney+ series could take place at any point in the MCU timeline, really.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
