BIRDS OF PREY Movie Finds its Cassandra Cain

Cassandra Cain is one of several DC characters to make their cinematic debut in Birds of Prey, which is filling out its cast and eyeing a January production start. Now, the character has finally been cast.

Newcomer Ella Jay Basco is making her feature film debut as Cassandra Cain in Birds of Prey. The actress previously guest starred in television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Veep.

In the movie, Cain comes across a diamond belonging to Black Mask, placing her in the Gotham City kingpin’s crosshairs. A team consisting of Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montoya unite to protect her.
