Arrowverse’s Batwoman Crossover Casts Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries

This year’s Arrowverse crossover event is a big one, despite not involving Legends of Tomorrow. The event introduces Batwoman and Lois Lane to the universe, while Superman is returning. Now, The CW has announced another key addition.

Cassandra Jean Amell – aka the real-life wife of Arrow star Stephen Amell – is set to play Nora Fries in the crossover. Fries is the wife of Batman villain Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze. However, don’t expect the cool villain to show up and break the ice in the event. Amell’s past credits include America’s Next Top Model, Mad Men, and more.

Nora’s exact role in the crossover is being kept under wraps. But traditionally, Nora is terminally ill and is being kept alive in a cryogenic chamber. Victor’s determination to cure his wife ultimately leads to him becoming the villain Mr. Freeze.

While Nora has become part of comic book canon, she was originally created for Batman: The Animated Series. She also appeared in Batman & Robin, Gotham, and other DC projects over the years.
