STAR WARS: Kathleen Kennedy Extends Lucasfilm Contract for 3 More Years
When Disney acquired Lucasfilm back in 2012, Kathleen Kennedy was appointed as president, after spending a few months as co-chairman alongside George Lucas. Since then, Kennedy has steered the ship on the Star Wars franchise to massive success. While some fans have had concerns about Kennedy’s leadership – see Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s failure and the polarizing reception to The Last Jedi – she won’t be going anywhere in the foreseeable future. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Kennedy has renewed her contract at Lucasfilm. She will remain at the company for another three years, going through 2021. With Disney and Lucasfilm planning a slowdown of Star Wars movies, what will…

Fox Delays DARK PHOENIX Again, Sets DEADPOOL 2 PG-13 Cut for This Christmas
Despite releasing the long-awaited teaser trailer (touting its Valentines Day 2019 date) less than two days ago, 20th Century Fox has once again delayed the next X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix. The film will now hit theaters on June 7th, 2019. This puts it right in the heart of the summer, which – based on the competition – may not be the wisest bet. But, Fox is hoping that the move will lead to the film being a bigger hit in China. No exact reason was given for the delay beyond that, but the movie has been undergoing reshoots, which are said to be extensive. So, this gives them extra time…

WONDER WOMAN 1984 Rumor: Pedro Pascal is Playing….
Pedro Pascal is one of several exciting additions to the cast of DC’s Wonder Woman 1984, but his character has been under wraps from the beginning. We saw the one picture of him in the movie, but that’s about it. While we wait on official word, a new rumor (courtesy of our friends at SuperBroMovies) may finally give us the answer. Apparently, Pedro Pascal is playing none other than…… Maxwell Lord! Maxwell Lord is a prominent villain in DC Comics, but as usual, expect some differences for the movie. For example, he won’t have his psychic powers, while this version is said to be hammier and “more liberal.” One iconic…

Arrowverse Crossover Gets a Title, Adds The Monitor
A lot of details on this year’s Arrowverse crossover are being kept under wraps. The three-episode event will feature Batwoman, Superman, Lois Lane, Nora Fries, and more characters. We will also be visiting Gotham City and Arkham Asylum. Now, we know what the title is, while a key DC character has been cast. This year’s crossover event is titled “Elseworlds.” Any diehard DC Comics fan will immediately identify that name. Traditionally, Elseworlds was the name of a banner for non-canon stories by DC. These include Gotham by Gaslight, Superman: Red Son, and Kingdom Come. It’s unclear exactly what that means for the Arrowverse, but it’s an indication that this crossover will…

BIRDS OF PREY Casts Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary
We’ve heard a lot of casting stories for DC’s Birds of Prey movie, which will see Harley Quinn team up with a gang of female characters in the DC Universe. Many actresses have been tested for the ensemble, and now, two key characters have been cast. Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) is set to play The Huntress, while Jurnee Smolett-Bell (Underground) has been cast as Black Canary. While the two characters have been portrayed in live action before, most notably on Arrow, this will serve as their debut in a movie. Still to be cast are Renee Montoya, Cassandra Cain, and the villain, who is most likely Black Mask. Speaking…

HELLBOY Reboot Pushed Back to Spring 2019
Fans have been wondering when we’d get a first look at the new Hellboy movie, which had been scheduled to come out in January. Since we’re so close to that release date, why hasn’t marketing begun yet? Turns out, it’s not coming out in January anymore. Originally set for January 11th, Hellboy will now hit theaters on April 12th, 2019. No reason was given for the three-month delay, but this will allow more time for an effective marketing campaign. This also puts the film one week after DC’s Shazam! and a few weeks before Marvel’s Avengers 4. Hopefully, it won’t have any trouble keeping legs in between. Hellboy will be at…
