Reed Morano Reportedly at the Top of SUPERGIRL Director Shortlist

It was recently revealed that a Supergirl movie is in development at Warner Bros. and DC Films. Writer Oren Uziel is working on the script, while the studio is said to be keen on hiring a female director. Now, it looks like we know who the studio wants to take the helm.

According to The GWW, filmmaker Reed Morano is at the top of WB’s shortlist to direct Supergirl. No offer has been made, and it’s unclear if any meetings have happened yet. Other names on the list are currently unknown. But if the studio is already looking at directors, then they’re probably planning on getting this movie out sooner than later.

Morano’s credits include Meadowland, I Think We’re Alone Now, and a few episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale. For the latter, Morano won an Emmy and a Director’s Guild of America (DGA) Award, making her the first woman director to win both awards for a drama series.

Hopefully, we’ll have more Supergirl news to share soon. Stay tuned.
