Djimon Hounsou is in AQUAMAN Too

It was announced this week that Djimon Hounsou is in DC’s Shazam! movie, replacing Ron Cephas Jones as The Wizard. This comes after he reprised the role of Korath in Captain Marvel. But it turns out that Hounsou has another role in DC Films’ universe; one that we’ll see even sooner, in fact.

Entertainment Weekly has released a new image from Aquaman, featuring a first look at the rulers of the Fisherman Kingdom. The King is played by none other than Djimon Hounsou. We also see the Fisherman Queen and Princess, played by Natalia Safran and Sophia Forrest, respectively.

This is one of the seven kingdoms of Atlantis. Producer Peter Safran explains that this is one of the kingdoms that evolved after Atlantis’ fall, with poets and philosophers being at the forefront. In this particular scene, King Orm is here to request the Fisherman King’s help in invading the surface world.

Aquaman is scheduled to hit theaters December 21st. The sixth installment in the DC Films Universe stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ludi Lin, Patrick Wilson, and Nicole Kidman. James Wan directs from a script by Will Beall.
