BIRDS OF PREY Movie Rumored to Include Huntress

It was recently confirmed that DC is moving forward with a Birds of Prey movie, starring Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and directed by Cathy Yan. The film, which is beginning production in January, will include an ensemble of female characters from the DC Universe. Batgirl is expected to be involved, but Catwoman will not be. Characters like Black Canary and Penguin have also been rumored. Now, we have another name to add to the list.

Omega Underground has learned that Huntress will be appearing in Birds of Prey. This makes sense, considering that she is a frequent member of the Birds of Prey in the comics.

The Huntress persona has been assumed by many characters in the comics. The most prominent is Helena Bertinelli, a Gotham City vigilante. There is also Helena Wayne, an Earth-2 version who is the daughter of Batman and Catwoman. It's unknown which version will be in the movie, but don't be surprised if it's Bertinelli.

In addition to various animated appearances, Huntress has appeared in live action television on Legends of the Superheroes, Birds of Prey, and Arrow. The Birds of Prey movie marks the character's first cinematic portrayal.
