BLACK PANTHER Crosses $500 Million Domestically, Nears $900 Million Worldwide in Weekend #3

At this point, you already know that Black Panther has been a colossal success for Marvel Studios. The Ryan Coogler-directed blockbuster earned one of the biggest opening weekends of all time, and it has continued to outpace almost every movie ever. This weekend is no different, as the film passes a key milestone.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Black Panther has grossed an estimated $65.7 million this weekend, easily retaining the top spot. It’s one of the biggest third weekends ever, behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($90.2 million) and Avatar ($68.5 million). This figure pushes Black Panther past the $500 million domestic mark; the only other superhero movies to pass that are The Avengers ($623.4 million) and The Dark Knight ($534.9 million).

Overseas, Black Panther brought in an additional $56.2 million, bringing its international total to $396.6 million. Its worldwide total is now $897.8 million, so it should pass the $900 million mark imminently. The film is already the fifth highest grossing MCU film worldwide, and at this rate, it should easily end up higher in the top five.
