Kristen Wiig in Talks to Play Cheetah in WONDER WOMAN 2

This week, we heard a rumor that Cheetah is the main antagonist in DC Films' Wonder Woman sequel, which is currently undergoing casting and will shoot this summer. Now, we may have an actress for the villainous role, but it's not who you may have expected.

According to Deadline, Kristen Wiig is in talks to play Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2. Emma Stone previously passed on this role. While unconfirmed, it is expected that this Cheetah is the Barbara Ann Minerva version. Wiig is best known for her comedy work on Saturday Night Live and Bridesmaids, but she has also shown her dramatic chops in films such as The Martian. Cheetah would be her first supervillain role.

Patty Jenkins returns to direct Wonder Woman 2, which will take Diana Prince into the 1980s Soviet Union. Production is expected to begin in May for a November 1st, 2019 release. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Constantine Confirmed to Appear in LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season Finale

Following his own series' cancellation and an Arrow guest appearance, Matt Ryan's John Constantine finally popped up on Legends of Tomorrow earlier this season. Sooner after the episode, it was confirmed that Constantine will be back in episode 15. And now, he'll return for the end of the season.

Warner Bros. TV has announced (via ComicBook) that Constantine will appear in Legends of Tomorrow's season three finale. The exact extent of his role in the episode is still unknown. This news also comes after confirmation that Jonah Hex and former Legend Jefferson Jackson are also returning in the finale.

In addition to his Legends of Tomorrow role, Constantine will headline an animated series, which premieres next month on CW Seed.

Chris Hemsworth in Talks to Star in Sony's MEN IN BLACK Spinoff

Following the trilogy led by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, Sony is continuing the Men in Black series with a new film. While not a reboot, the movie will focus on new characters in an attempt to revive the franchise - think Jurassic World. F. Gary Gray is attached to direct. Now, we have the first bit of casting news.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Hemsworth is in early negotiations to star in the Men in Black spinoff. If a deal closes, Hemsworth will play one of three new characters - a white man, a black woman, and an older man. The film is set in London.

Hemsworth, of course, is best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He will next reprise the role in this summer's Avengers: Infinity War and next year's Avengers 4. With those films marking the end of his Marvel contract, Hemsworth may move on from playing the God of Thunder. That would open the door to him trying another franchise. Enter Men in Black.

Review: SUPER SONS Vol. 1: When I Grow Up...

Writer: Peter J. Tomasi Pencils: Jorge Jiménez Super Sons:Vol. 1 collects the first five issues of the Super Sons series and tells the story of Jonathan Kent A.K.A. Superboy and Damian Wayne A.K.A. Robin, the sons of Superman and Batman as they form a reluctant team to fight teenage supervillain Kid Amazo. Kid Amazo threatens the entire Justice League with his powers and the Super Sons wind up enlisting the help of an unlikely ally in their battle. Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne have the potential to save to world…provided that they don’t kill each other first. When I first heard that DC Comics decided to give Superman and Lois Lane a son, I was a bit skeptical with the direction they were taking. Was this just a temporary marketing ploy or did DC actually have long term plans in store for Superman’s offspring? The debut of Super Sons changed my opinion. The addition of Jonathan Kent has breathed new life into the Superman mythos and will provide new stories for years to come.

SILVER SURFER Movie Back in Development; Fox Accelerating Development of Many Marvel Movies

Despite Disney's planned acquisition of Fox, the studio is still moving at full speed ahead with multiple Marvel-based movies, primarily in the X-Men franchise. Now, a new report sheds light on just how determined Fox is to exploit its properties before the deal closes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox is intent on putting out as many Marvel movies as possible before the merger is finalized. Among these is another attempt at a Silver Surfer movie, this time written by Brian K. Vaughn. A script was first written in 2000, with the character later appearing in 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. After that film, there were plans for a spin-off, which were ultimately shelved.

It's also business as usual for movies that we already knew about. Noah Hawley is still making his Doctor Doomfilm, while Tim Miller and Brian Michael Bendis are teaming up for Kitty Pryde. Deadpool 2and X-Men: Dark Phoenixare out this year, with X-Forcebeginning production in October.

BATGIRL Unlikely to Move Forward Anytime Soon, Following Joss Whedon's Exit

Following a year of being attached, writer-director Joss Whedon announced last week that he has exited DC's Batgirl movie, saying that he didn't have a story. Immediately after the announcement, it was reported that Warner Bros. was looking to hire a female director to take over the project. However, a new report says that a new director likely won't be hired anytime soon.

According to The Wrap, WB and DC are not in a hurry to move forward with Batgirl and a new director. The site's insider says that WB intends on establishing DC's big characters (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and maybe Green Lantern) before the smaller characters, such as Batgirl, Nightwing, and Lobo. Batgirl was also unlikely to ever happen before Matt Reeves' The Batman, even with Whedon on board.

The Wrap also cites other factors that would affect DC Films' future, such as Justice League's underperformance and the potential Time Warner/AT&T merger. More detail…
