SHAZAM! to Cast the Marvel Family?

Shazam! is currently constructing their main cast. They’re already looking for someone to play their lead hero, but now That Hashtag Show is reporting that they’re also looking cast four additional members of the Shazam Family.

Our friends at Omega Underground released an audition tape for the film and believe that it’s for the character Freddy Freeman – Billy Batson’s best friend. That Hashtag Show is adding that not only is Freddy Freeman in the film but three others as well. The studio is looking for children to play “Daniel”, “Carlos”, and “Suzy”. The belief is that they’re actually the roles of Eugene Choi, Pedro Pena, and Darla Dudley. These three characters were introduced during the Flashpoint storyline in 2011.

During Flashpoint Eugene, Pedro, Freddy, Darla, Billy and his sister Mary had a run in with the wizard Shazam. He gave them all powers with Billy getting the courage of Achilles, Freddy the power of Zeus, Mary the stamina of Atlas, Pedro the strength of Hercules, Darla the speed of Mercury and Eugene the wisdom of Solomon. Together the kids merged together to become the mighty Captain Thunder! This can two ways, they can all get powers especially with a Flashpoint movie on the way, or they go the post-Flashpoint route where they were just regular kids. It’s likely that they’ll just be supporting characters with Billy being the solo hero. They can also give them powers later down the line, maybe in a sequel?

Shazam! is scheduled to hit theaters in 2019.
