LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Will Face Gorilla Grodd and More Villains Next Season

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is returning for a third season next fall. The season will focus on the Legends trying to repair the damage made to time in last year’s finale, while dealing with Rip Hunter’s newly established Time Bureau. Now, we have some details on the main villain(s) of the new season.
At the Television Critics Association’s summer (via /Film), Marc Guggenheim revealed that The Flash villain Gorilla Grodd is appearing on Legends of Tomorrow next season. Grodd was last seen in Flash‘s two-part Gorilla City arc, and he was imprisoned in ARGUS. But now, he’s going to be joining a new group of villains. “We’re going to have a group of villains that’s going to have a little bit more of a rotating membership than we had last year. We want to give you the sense of a group like we had last year because that was a lot of fun. There will be a little bit more rotation also so we can also give you a little bit more variety.”

What will this new group be called? Guggenheim teases that they may have a name from DC Comics lore, similar to last year’s Legion of Doom. “I have a name for them that I would love to see referenced on the show. Sort of like the Legion of Doom, we’ve got to figure out a way to get it in there.” So, who all will be in this group?
It was previously confirmed that Neal McDonough’s Damien Darhk will return to Legends, this time as a series regular. At TCA (via Comic Book), this version of Darhk will be the one who died in the Arrow season four finale. He is the “distinct” leader of the group. Last year, we met an earlier version of Darhk, who was later returned to the timeline and memory wiped. But this time, he’s gonna need an actual resurrection. Additionally, this group will feature Vixen’s granddaughter, Kuasa, who previously appeared in the Vixen animated series.
Stay tuned for more updates as we have them. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns on Tuesday, October 10th at 9 PM EST on The CW.
