Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke Will Return in ARROW Season 5 Finale

Slade Wilson, played by actor Manu Bennett, debuted as a recurring character on Arrow back in season one. He later resurfaced in season two, becoming Deathstroke and serving as the season’s big bad. He later appeared on an episode in season three, while in subsequent episodes, we’ve only seen glimpses of the Deathstroke suit (with a stuntman inside).

Since Slade was by far one of the show’s most beloved characters, fans have been wanting to see him return. However, Bennett has made his disappointment in the series’ direction with Deathstroke known, and he later continued to make shady remarks on social media. Additionally, the Deathstroke character is joining the DC Extended Universe, with Joe Manganiello playing him in The Batman.
But, dreams do come true. It has been announced today that Manu Bennett will return to Arrow, with GreenArrowTV confirming that it’s for the season finale. It has been said that Oliver Queen is going to make some “surprising” alliances in his mission to defeat Prometheus. Could Slade be one of those allies? Possibly.

Speaking of the Arrow finale… Marc Guggenheim has confirmed that the last episode of season five is titled “Lian Yu.” Plus, more announcements about the finale are coming soon.
Last time we saw Slade, he was sent back to his ARGUS cell on Lian Yu. From past interviews, we know that the Arrow finale won’t even take place in Star City. So, it’s likely that Lian Yu will be the setting of the finale – not just the present, but also the past, as the flashbacks will come full circle with the beginning of the pilot.
Also, actor Nick Tarabay, who played Captain Boomerang back in season three, recently teased his return. Boomerang was also locked up on Lian Yu in season three. Could he be another ally of Oliver’s?
Stay tuned for more Arrow news as we have it.
