INJUSTICE 2 Bits: Flash Gets a Trailer, New Details on the Tie-In Comic

After the events of the first game, Superman is finally defeated and his reign of terror is now over. But that’s not where the story ends. The Injustice 2 comic explores what went down after Superman’s reign. THR sat down with writer Tom Taylor for more details.

The Injustice: Gods Among Us comics told stories across the DC Universe. Characters and subplots that weren’t necessarily a part of the main story, but it made the universe feel much bigger than what the game showed us. They gave it a sense of scale. It seems the Injustice 2 comics will do the same: It really is just as far-reaching. There will be characters who will only appear in the comics, not the game. There will be whole stories, which, while hopefully strengthening the game story, will only be seen in our pages. There will be battles, disasters and triumphs. The world will be rocked. Characters will fight and love and die in our pages. There may even be characters created solely for our story… read and see.

Batman and Superman are the backbone of the DC Universe and their relationship is a huge part of every Justice League story; and things are no different here. Taylor went on to say: I’m a huge fan of the World’s Finest. I do think Clark and Bruce, outside of Injustice, bring the best out of each other. One of the cores of Injustice really is the break-up of the World’s Finest friendship, and I think both men feel this. They both know what they’ve lost, and wish it were otherwise. If either had been able to compromise at the beginning, maybe everything wouldn’t have gone off the rails. If Bruce had stood with Clark and accepted him after Joker’s death, maybe the world could have changed for the better with both of them working together. If Superman had accepted he’d done the wrong thing, I think Batman would have done anything to help him.  That’s the problem with writing an epic tragedy, it all has to be a bit tragic. For the full interview click here.
That’s not the only piece of news we got today. The Flash has his own character trailer. The Fastest Man Alive unleashes his full power, and it’s glorious. check it out!

The Flash is probably the character I’m most excited for. He goes through the speedforce and slams his enemies into their past self – unbelievable. For more Injustice 2 news and everything else DC, stay tuned.

The Injustice 2 tie-in is released digitally tomorrow (the print edition is released May 3rd), while the video game hits consoles May 16th.
