SUPERGIRL Casts Kevin Sorbo in Mysterious Villain Role

The network has announced (via Entertainment Weekly) that Hercules himself, Kevin Sorbo, has join the cast of Supergirl. He will recur this season as a currently unnamed villain. Other details, including which episode he'll first appear in, are under wraps.

Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg gave the following statement on Sorbo's casting. "Since his days as Hercules, Kevin Sorbo has brought such a strong presence to the screen and we couldn’t be more excited to have him join us on Supergirl."

Sorbo is best known for starring in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and he reprised the titular role on Xena: Warrior Princess and an animated movie. He has also appeared in God's Not Dead, Sharknado 3 and Meet the Spartans. And fun fact: Sorbo was considered for the role of Superman in Lois & Clark, but of course, he lost out to Dean Cain.
