SUICIDE SQUAD Box Office Updates for Weekend #7

Despite negative reviews from critics and that 67% drop in its second weekend, DC Films’ Suicide Squad has turned out to be an indisputable box office hit. It has had strong legs in every subsequent weekend, and last week, the movie surpassed $700 million worldwide. Now, we have the box office totals from its seventh weekend of release.

According to Box Office Mojo, Suicide Squad grossed an estimated $4.7 million this weekend. This is only a $17.7% drop from last week, and the number brings the film to #7 on this weekend’s top ten. The movie has now grossed $313.8 million domestically.

Overseas, the movie has surpassed the $400 million mark to a $405.1 million gross. Its combined worldwide total is now $718.8 million. Suicide Squad is currently the fourth highest grossing comic book movie of 2016, and the eighth biggest overall. And the film wasn’t even released in China.

With Suicide Squad continuing to be a financial success, expect news for a sequel and/or spin-off(s) to be announced in the near future. Stay tuned.
