Joe Manganiello Confirmed to Play Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s BATMAN Movie

Last week, Ben Affleck shared a cryptic video on social media featuring Deathstroke, who is reportedly the main villain of the director’s Batman film. Immediately after the video was posted, it was widely speculated by Omega Underground and others that Joe Manganiello is playing Deathstroke. The actor – who was actually rumored to play this role in Suicide Squad last year – is now in London, and he recently followed Zack Snyder on Twitter.

Now, it’s happening. DC Films co-chief Geoff Johns confirms to The Wall Street Journal that Manganiello is playing Deathstroke in Affleck’s Batman movie. Johns is co-writing the script for this film with Affleck. He doesn’t confirm if Deathstroke is in Justice League, and he’s remaining mum on when Batman will hit theaters. However, it is most likely one of DC’s untitled 2018/2019 movies.

Manganiello previously played Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. Since then, he’s been linked to a few big comic book movie roles. He was a contender to play Superman in Man of Steel, while he was considered to play Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. So, it’s about time he’s playing a major DC character.

Further details on the movie’s plot are unknown. Hopefully, more news will come shortly. Stay tuned.
