Black Manta is the Villain in the AQUAMAN Movie

DC Films’ Aquaman will finally undergo production next year. James Wan is directing from a script by Will Beall. Jason Momoa stars as Arthur Curry, while Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe will play Mera and Vulko, respectively. All three are reprising their roles from Justice League. Now, we know who the big bad is gonna be.

According to The Wrap, the villain of the Aquaman movie is none other than Black Manta. The character has been rumored to appear in the film for a while – and was even rumored to be Common’s character in Suicide Squad at one point – but now, a credible source has confirmed it. No word yet on who is playing the character in Aquaman.

Black Manta is Aquaman’s arch nemesis in the comics. So, it would make sense to use this villain in a movie. In addition to his role in Aquaman lore, Manta has connections to the Suicide Squad. If Manta survives Aquaman, it would be great to see him join Suicide Squad 2, assuming that the sequel happens.
