The Legion of Doom is Coming to DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW in Season 2; JSA Members Revealed

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow held its panel at San Diego Comic-Con last night, and we learned a slew of new details for the show’s second season. Not only have new members of the Justice Society of America been revealed, but we now know who the team will be fighting. And boy, is this one a doozy.

Next season, the Legends will be fighting none other than the Legion of Doom. This supervillain team will be comprised of Arrow and Flash villains Malcolm Merlyn, Damien Darhk, Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold. Previously, John Barrowman and Wentworth Miller signed deals to appear across all of The CW’s DC shows. Meanwhile, Neal McDonough will recur on Legends, while Matt Letscher has a series regular role.

Executive producer Marc Guggeneheim had this to say (via Comic Book Resources) about introducing the Legion. “For season two of Legends, we decided that the perfect antagonist for TV’s first-ever team of super heroes would be TV’s first-ever team of super-villains, recruited from the ranks of Arrow and The Flash‘s deadliest adversaries. Being huge fans of the Challenge of the Super Friends, we’ve come to call this group our Legion of Doom.”

Another super-team appearing next season is the Justice Society of America. We already knew that Hourman is a member, and at the panel, five more members were named (via CBR). These characters are Commander Steel, Vixen, Obsidian, Stargirl and Doctor Mid-Nite. Commander Steel and Vixen have already been cast, but we don’t have casting news for the other three just yet.

(Also, Jonah Hex will return to Legends of Tomorrow next season!)

Stay tuned for more news as we have it. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns on Thursday, October 13th at 8 PM EST on The CW.
