THE FLASH Zeroing in on Kiersey Clemons for Female Lead

Recently, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa signed on to direct Warner Bros.’ The Flash movie. Now, the film is looking to cast its female lead, and Famuyiwa has a top choice for the role.

According to Variety, Famuyiwa wants to reunite with Dope actress Kiersey Clemons for The Flash. The character is probably Iris West, a journalist who is Barry Allen’s most popular love interest. If Clemons lands the role, she will likely make a cameo in next year’s Justice League.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit says that Lucy Boynton and singer Rita Ora are also being considered for the role.

Variety reaffirms that the plan is for The Flash to begin production later this year. The film was set to hit theaters on March 16th, 2018; however, Warner Bros. previously slated the Tomb Raider reboot on this date instead. A new date for The Flash has yet to be assigned.

Famuyiwa is directing The Flash from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith. Ezra Miller stars as the Scarlet Speedster.
