Marc Guggenheim Teases Supergirl’s Role in The CW’s Four-Show DC Crossover

Now that Supergirl has moved from CBS to The CW, it’s easier to cross over with the latter network’s DC shows. The CW previously confirmed that Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will have an epic crossover event this fall. It is expected to be told in three episodes of Flash, Arrow and Legends.

So, how will Supergirl fit in? Marc Guggenheim spoke with /Film about the big crossover, hinting at how Kara Zor-El will meet the other heroes. “It’s an external threat from outside the shows that will involve Supergirl coming over to Flash, then Arrow then Legends of Tomorrow.” Of course, it’s unknown who, or what, this threat is. But Guggenheim cautions that they’re not making a full-blown Supergirl crossover episode, per say. “She is going to be coming over but we’re not going to do a full on Supergirl crossover episode. I don’t want to give you the wrong impression.”

Story details on the four-show crossover are being kept under wraps. However, fans are speculating that The Flash‘s current “Flashpoint” arc may come into play. At the very least, that alternate timeline will affect Arrow and Legends in some capacity.
