Warner Bros. Pushes THE LEGO MOVIE SEQUEL to 2019 Release Date

Warner Bros. has made a few changes to its 2017-2019 film slate. Among these is a new date for The LEGO Movie Sequel, the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2014 animated movie. Unfortunately, the sequel has been delayed again. Details can be found below, courtesy of Deadline.

The LEGO Movie Sequel was originally set for a May 2017 release, before being pushed to May 2018. But now, the film is scheduled for a February 8th, 2019 release. This would put it five years after the release of the original movie. No reason for the delay was given. Currently, The LEGO Movie Sequel shares its date with Paramount’s next SpongeBob SquarePants film.

However, those looking to get their LEGO fill will be happy to know that The LEGO Batman Movie, a spin-off starring Will Arnett’s Dark Knight, is coming out in February. Meanwhile, Ninjago will be released in September 2017.
