Vicki Vale is Coming to GOTHAM Season 3; Casting Underway for New FLASH Character

Gotham is looking to cast a few new characters for its third season, including the villainous Mad Hatter. Now, another key supporting character in Batman’s mythology is set to appear on the prequel series.

TV Line has confirmed that Vicki Vale will pop up in Gotham next season. She is described as an “ambitious young journalist,” and she will be in her late 20s. Traditionally, Vicki is a love interest of Bruce Wayne’s. But since Bruce is just a teenager on Gotham, don’t expect any romance between the two.

This marks the character’s third live action portrayal. She was previously played by Jane Adams in the 1949 Batman and Robin serial, and then by Kim Basinger in 1989’s Batman film.

Additionally, TV Line has shared a casting breakdown for The Flash, also entering its third season next fall. The CW is looking to introduce a “major” new recurring character next season, described as a “slightly older, slightly geekier” contemporary of Barry Allen’s. Also said to be smart and intuitive, the unnamed character knows that Barry is hiding something and wants to know what it is. However, he also has his own secrets.

Bonus: Regarding John Barrowman’s potential return as Malcolm Merlyn on Arrow next season, TV Line says his role is “unclear.” Merlyn was a series regular on the show’s last two seasons.
