GOTHAM Casts its New Poison Ivy; Casting Breakdowns for KRYPTON’s Lead Characters

We have even more DC television casting news today. First up, it has been announced (via IGN) that Gotham has cast actress Maggie Geha as the new Ivy Pepper, aka the future Poison Ivy. A younger version of the character was played by Clare Foley in the show’s first two seasons.

Here is Fox’s description for the new Ivy: “Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne.”

Gotham returns on Monday, September 19th at 8 PM EST on Fox.

Next, we have some casting breakdowns for SyFy’s Krypton, courtesy of TV Line. The potential series is set decades before the planet Krypton was destroyed and baby Kal-El was sent to Earth. The show is looking to cast six characters:

Seg-El – The protagonist of the series, grandfather of Kal-El/Superman and the father of Jor-El. Described as “…athletic, quietly confident and in his 20s.”

Lyta Zod – A “twentysomething beauty” and “reluctant warrior.” She will most likely have some sort of connection to future Superman villain General Zod.

Val-El – The grandfather of Seg. A “genius” and “staunch” believer in the exploration of space, Val defied death by entering the Phantom Zone.

Alura Zod – The mother of Lyta. Again, there’s that probable General Zod connection. Also, ‘Alura’ is a name shared by Alura Zor-El, Kara’s mother on Supergirl.

Dev-Em – Described as a “chiseled, twentysomething bad boy.” In the comics, Dev escapes Krypton and joins the Legion of Superheroes in the 30th century.
