DC TV News Bits: More Villains Coming to GOTHAM Season 3, iZOMBIE Adds a New Series Regular, Stephen Amell Teases ARROW Season 4 Finale

In its first two seasons, Gotham has featured many of Batman’s villains. In fact, this rogues gallery has been a big focus of the series. So, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that more will appear in the show’s third season. But which villains will be present?

Executive producer John Stephens spoke with Comic Book Resources about Gotham season three, and he revealed some of the villains that will appear next year. Among them are Mad Hatter, the Court of Owls’ Talon, and Solomon Grundy. “We’ll be seeing Mad Hatter in Season 3. We’ll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we’re going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we’ll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy.”

Gotham will mark the latest live action portrayal of Grundy, who was previously adapted in Legends of the Superheroes, Smallville and, most recently, Arrow. Meanwhile, Mad Hatter previously appeared in the 1960s Batman series, while Gotham will mark the live action debut of Talon.

iZombie won’t return for season three until midseason next year, but we now have a casting update. Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Aly Michalka has been promoted to series regular for next season. Her character, Peyton Charles, is a best friend of Liv’s who has recurred throughout the show’s first two season. So, fans of the character should be happy to hear that we’ll be seeing more of her next season.

The Arrow season four finale airs tomorrow night on The CW, and star Stephen Amell spoke with Entertainment Weekly about what to expect from the episode. He says that the episode, which serves as the “ultimate showdown” between Green Arrow and Damien Darhk, will not focus predominately on rescuing Felicity – despite that cliffhanger from last week’s episode.

Amell adds, “It calls back a little bit of our premiere from this year, which I think is always a fun technique. We get some resolution. Not just for Oliver, not just for Darhk, but for most of our core cast members.” He then says that the finale will not set up the big bad for next season. “We do throw a little hook in there that will very much excite people for season 5, but it does not have to do with the big bad.”
