Christian Bale Isn’t Happy With His Batman Performance

We’re just weeks away from getting to meet our new Batman in Ben Affleck, but we will always remember what Christian Bale brought to the role. Whether you remember him for his controversial voice or for his awesome fight with Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, the majority of fans are happy with the performance he gave in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, even though the star himself doesn’t seem to be.

Yahoo caught up with the actor, who recently received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Big Short, who expressed disappointment in his performance. “I didn’t quite manage what I hoped I would throughout the trilogy,” Bale said. “Chris did, but my own sense of self is like, ‘I didn’t quite nail it.’”
Perhaps one of the reasons he felt this way was because he was overshadowed in his own film by the late Heath Ledger, who starred opposite Bale as The Joker in 2008’s The Dark Knight“Heath turned up, and just kind of completely ruined all my plans,” Bale admits. Because I went, ‘He’s so much more interesting than me and what I’m doing.’”
Christian Bale can next be seen in Knights Of Cups, which opens this Friday.
