Ben Affleck Discusses Batman's Role in the Justice League; A Closer Look at the New Batcave

Image
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, available today, has a few new tidbits on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We have a new look at the updated Batcave, while Ben Affleck weighs in on Batman's role in the Justice League and how he stands out from other superheroes. Also, how is Jeremy Irons' Alfred Pennyworth different from past incarnations?

While Wayne Manor has been neglected, the Batcave in Batman v Superman has been kept up-to-date by Alfred and Bruce Wayne. Regarding how his take on Alfred is unique, Irons says, "Alfred is a lot more hands-on in our film than he has previously been. He’s a bit of a grease monkey, and he’s very involved in the decisions Bruce makes." You can check out some concept art of the new and improved Batcave below.

Additionally, Affleck commented on how Batman fits into this world of god-like heroes. Basically, the thing that helps the Dark Knight stand out from other members of the Justice League is his humanity. "[Batm…

Second Trailer for SUICIDE SQUAD Coming Soon?

Image
A three-minute trailer for Suicide Squad was released at Comic-Con last summer, giving us our first look at the highly anticipated supervillain film. As we draw closer to the movie's theatrical release, fans have been wondering when we'll get a second trailer. The most frequent suggestion was March, attached to the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, it looks like we'll be getting a new trailer even sooner.

According to Heroic Hollywood, the next Suicide Squad trailer will likely be released sometime next month. The site suggests that it could be out during NFL playoffs/Super Bowl time. However, this release date isn't set in stone, and Warner Bros. may delay the trailer's debut.

Heroic Hollywood also has a very detailed, shot-for-shot description of the trailer. It breaks down the scenes and dialogue featured, as well as the title cards. The trailer is allegedly set to "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. You can check out the full descript…

The Reverse-Flash is Officially Returning to THE FLASH This Season

Image
For those who watched the season finale for The Flash last year, Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash was seemingly wiped from existence after his ancestor, Eddie, killed himself. It looked like this would be the last we'd see of Barry Allen's arch-nemesis, even on a show that is now exploring the Multiverse and alternate timelines. Well, Thawne is indeed returning to the show in its second season.

Entertainment Weeklyhas confirmed that actor Matt Letscher will return as Eobard Thawne on The Flash S2E11, which is appropriately titled "The Reverse-Flash Returns." Letscher portrayed Thawne before the character assumed the appearance of Harrison Wells, and then briefly in the season finale as he was erased from existence. Will this Thawne be from an alternate Earth/timeline? Possibly.

Executive producer and episode co-writer Todd Helbing had this to say about Thawne's return and how it impacts the characters. "His impossible return to Central City puts a member of the S…

New German TV Spot for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE; Runtime Revealed?

Image
As we draw closer to the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, television spots will soon air as a part of Warner Bros.' marketing campaign. The first comes in the form of a German promo. While not in the highest quality, the promo features new footage of both Superman and Batman in action.

Additionally, it looks like preorders for Batman v Superman tickets are now available in Germany. On a German website (via DC Comics Movie), a potential runtime is listed. Apparently, the runtime for Batman v Superman is 151 minutes, aka 2 hours and 31 minutes. This is eight minutes longer than the last film, Man of Steel. This sounds plausible, as Dawn of Justice has a lot going on in terms of characters and storylines. A 2.5 hour runtime should be perfect for incorporating and balancing it all.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters March 25th, 2016. The second installment in the DC Extended Universe stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg…

Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill Talk BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE; 70mm Release Under Consideration

Image
The cover story for the latest issue of Ciné Live is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The cover features the same Batman and Superman images from the Total Film cover, but it features a new image of Wonder Woman.

More interestingly, however, is the interviews with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. In the magazine, Affleck talks in detail on his portrayal of Batman and how it compares to others. He also comments on his two suits, why Lex Luthor is the perfect villain for the film, and the challenges of filming. Meanwhile, Cavill discusses how Superman has evolved from Man of Steel to Dawn of Justice, his relationship with Batman, and his portrayal of Clark Kent.

Many thanks to Batman-Newsfor the translation.

Affleck reiterates that his Batman will be older and past his prime, unlike previous film incarnations. "He’ll find meaning in his own life during his conflict with Superman. He really thinks Superman is an existential menace, and he believes destroying him will be his legacy.…

ARROW's Ra's al Ghul Set to Return on DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Image
Traditionally a Batman adversary, Ra's al Ghul (played by Matt Nable) took on Oliver Queen as the main villain of Arrow's third season. The season ended with Ra's being killed, and Malcolm Merlyn takes his place as Heir to the Demon. Fans have speculated whether or not this Ra's was dead for good. Well, one way or another, we will be seeing him again soon.

According to ComicBook.com, Nable is set to return as Ra's al Ghul on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, which premieres next month. He will appear in the midseason show's ninth episode.

It is unknown whether or not Ra's is being resurrected from his death on Arrow, or if his appearance will be linked to time travel. I'm going to guess and say that it's the latter, as Legends of Tomorrow deals heavily with time travel. Also, a slew of supporting characters from Arrow and The Flash will be appearing on this show, so having Ra's show up is not so shocking.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it. DC&…

Lex Luthor Shares His Thoughts on The Batman and Much More in Revealing New Interview

Image
In an interview with WIRED, Lex Luthor shares his thoughts on the vigilante Batman, politics and dealing with "Super Humans." Here's a run down of what Mr. Luthor had to say on the matter.

After a little banter with reportedRon Troupe,Lex says: What I want is to leave the planet in better shape for the next generation. To make the world and its children safer. I want it. And I bet you do too, Ron.

Troupe responds: You sound like someone running for political office.

Luthor says: If that matches their rhetoric, then maybe I should pay more attention to the candidates; I might want to back a few of them. The world is changing faster than we anticipated; we’ve all seen it. More than ever, we need leaders who not only comprehend the new threats facing us, but who will seriously and thoughtfully address them.

When asked about the rising superhuman threat Luthor notes: Well I don’t know where you got that term. I think to be a super human, one should begin by being, you know, f…
