With Ben Affleck rumored to write and direct the next Batman film, many fans have been wondering what will be the main plot of the film. Now JoBlo, is reporting that the film will focus on The Red Hood and 'A Death in the Family' storyline.

SUICIDE SQUAD Stills Officially Released; David Ayer Explains How Film is "Comic Book Movie 2.0"

Image
After scanned versions were revealed earlier this week, Empire Magazine has officially released some of the new Suicide Squad stills online. The images feature characters such as Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Amanda Waller and, of course, The Joker. Check them out below.

Additionally, writer-director David Ayer spoke with Empire (via CBM) about how  Suicide Squad stands out from the rest of the comic book movie genre. The film will mark the first CBM to focus on the villains, rather than the heroes, but how else is it different? Ayer explains, "You know, all these movies are about defeating the evil alien robot from [bleep]ing Planet X, before it destroys the world with its ticking clock. And who the [bleep] cares? But you do this story about struggle and isolation and people who have been s**t on that suddenly get thrown this lifeline... that's not so bad... I like to think of this as the Comic Book Movie 2.0." Very valid points from Ayer here.

But how did Suicide Squad e…

GOTHAM Finds its Mr. Freeze While SUPERGIRL Casts the Real Toyman

Image
We have a couple of casting bits for two of DC's television shows. First off, Gotham has finally cast its future Mr. Freeze. According to TV Line, House of Cards alum Nathan Darrow is set to play Victor Fries, who will one day become one of Batman's most iconic villains. Fries will be a recurring role; his first episode airs on November 30th, while episodes 12 and 13 will tell a "heavy" story for him.

Additionally, Fox has provided an official description for Fries. "Though ferociously smart and eminently capable in his work as one of Gotham’s preeminent cryogenics engineers, Victor struggles to make meaningful connections with others. The one exception is his wife, Nora (casting TBA), who has tragically fallen ill with a terminal disease. Victor’s love for Nora knows no bounds, so as her condition worsens, he goes to extreme measures to figure out a way to freeze her before she dies. This harrowing journey leads to his transformation into the legendary DC vill…

I’m super excited, of course, Gal Gadot is super talented, Patty Jenkins will direct, and we will shoot in film … What excites me most is to work in a movie with a superhero woman. GOTHAM Review: Rise of the Villains; By Fire

Image
Warning: This review contains spoilers

Let me start off by saying this was a great episode. With Butch infiltrating Galavan's crew, Penguin can now finally save his mother. The whole set up was entertaining. Of course Galavan did not believe, and he gave Butch a mallet as his new hand.
Butch is an interesting character to watch this season. After the programing Penguin gave him last season, you get the feeling that one day he is going to snap and get revenge.
Also Bruce was used very well this week.We see him training with Alfred in the cave, and having dinner with the Galavan family. Having Bruce finally involved in something important to the story is what he needed. Up until this point Bruce felt like filler in a series that was just buying time until Batman came to save the day.

The main plot of the episode was about Selina Kyle and Bridget Pike. After the events of last week's episode we see the two staying in Selina's hideout. Selina believes that Bridget should lea…

New SUICIDE SQUAD Character Details

Image
The Suicide Squad news just keeps coming! After talking to Empire magazine (via CBM), some the cast members of the film gave us a better idea of what to expect from the their character's. Check out the new information on Katana, Rick Flag, Killer Croc and more!

Katana   "She has morals and codes. She's can also slice through hundreds of people without taking a breath." - Karen Fukuhara
Slipknot "He's formidable. He can climb anything. And he hangs people for a living. I joke that he was caught strangling Wonder Woman. I downloaded this app called Grog Knots. Now I could tie up a horse." - Adam Beach
Captain Boomerang "He's an absolute bogan, in the purest sense. Dave's first instruction was, 'Find your inner shitbag." - Jai Courtney
El Diablo "Most of these guys are happy to get out there and kill people, but he just wants to stay out of the fight." - Jay Hernandez
Killer Croc "He's a cannibal with rage issues. Alt…

Highlights From Empire's SUICIDE SQUAD Coverage: Jared Leto Talks Joker, New Details on Katana, Scene Description

Image
We have more from Empire Magazine's new issue, where Suicide Squad is the cover story. First up, we have a new interview (via Comic Book Movie) with Jared Leto, who plays The Joker in the film.

The Oscar winner went completely in character during the entirety of the movie's shoot, and his interactions with the rest of the cast were...interesting, to say the least. Leto had this to say about staying in character. "There was definitely a period of...detachment. I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn't imagine doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games. But at the same time it was very painful, like giving birth out of my prick hole."

To prepare for the role, Leto listened to 1920s and read literature on shamans. Regarding how his Joker will be different from what has come before, he says, "I always get the sense that The Joker may be much older than people think. It's something different. If you …
