SUICIDE SQUAD Will Be Shooting in Chicago Next Week

Warner Bros. and DC’s Suicide Squad has been shooting in Toronto for the past few months, With production looking to conclude next month, we have an update on another location where some filming will take place.

According to Chicago Tribune (via Batman-News), filming for Suicide Squad will occur in Chicago on Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th. However, don’t expect to see any cast members to appear on set; this shoot will only film the city’s skyline and river areas via a helicopter. This footage will then overlap with other footage to create the movie’s city landscape. If the weather on those days intervene, the shoot will be re-scheduled for Sunday, August 9th.

Scenes for both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice were filmed in Chicago during their respective productions. Having Suicide Squad also shoot in this city, even briefly, should help establish more cohesion with its fellow DC Extended Universe installments. For the exact times regarding when Suicide Squad‘s shoot takes place, head over to Chicago Tribune.

Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5th, 2016. The third installment in the DC Extended Universe stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, Jay Hernandez and Karen Fukahara. David Ayer writes and directs.
