Scoot McNairy's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Character (Again) Rumored to Be Revealed

This week, new rumors seemingly revealed Callan Mulvey and Jena Malone's characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. To find out who they may be playing, click here. Today, it's Scoot McNairy's turn. McNairy has been rumored and speculated to be playing a lot of different DC characters, from Metallo and Will Magnus to Jimmy Olsen, Dick Grayson and even The Flash (before Ezra Miller was cast). Now, an old rumor has been substantiated by a fairly credible source.

Heroic Hollywood has seemingly revealed who exactly McNairy is playing in Batman v Superman, and it backs up a rumor from last year written by The Devil's Eyes. And it looks like he is playing...Jimmy Olsen, the well-known photographer from Daily Planet who is a friend of Superman's in comic book lore. Heroic Hollywood founder El Mayimbe spoke about this rumor on this week's installment of Meet the Movie Press.

But how exactly does Jimmy Olsen fit into Batman v Superman? Find out below.

[Warning: The Following May Contain Potential SPOILERS.]

So, according to both Heroic Hollywood and The Devil's Eyes, Olsen was in Metropolis during General Zod's invasion in Man of Steel. In the midst of the event, which is now known as "Black Zero," Olsen's legs were crushed by falling building debris. This would explain why McNairy was seen with green screen socks on the film's set last year.

So, this is a very interesting twist on an iconic Superman character, if true. Stay tuned for more as we have it.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters March 25th, 2016. The second installment in the DC Extended Universe stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot. Zack Snyder directs from a script by Chris Terrio and David S Goyer.
