BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Covers New Issue of Empire Magazine

Empire Magazine has unveiled the cover for this week’s issue, and it features Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is the second official magazine cover for the film, which covered Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con 2015 issue earlier this month. On the left, we have a hulking new look at Ben Affleck’s Batman. On the right, we have a new image of Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Empire also spoke with the Batman v Superman cast and director Zack Snyder. The latter praises this iteration of Batman, saying, “There is just this gravitas to Batman. He is operatic.” As for Superman, star Henry Cavill had this to say about how the Man of Steel is at the center of the film’s story. “In this movie, everyone has split into different directions as to how they feel about this alien. Some people love him, some hate him. Other people fear him. Is he a tyrant?”

Snyder then commented on how this DC Extended Universe is being planned out. He reaffirms that the franchise will be a filmmaker-friendly environment, letting directors do what they want to do within a single universe. “I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe.”

For more from the Batman v Superman crew, be sure to pick up the new issue of Empire Magazine on Thursday.
