TV Guide’s Comic-Con 2015 Covers for THE FLASH, ARROW, GOTHAM and SUPERGIRL Revealed
TV Guide has released its annual San Diego Comic-Con exclusive covers, and included are covers for four of DC Entertainment’s television shows. Returning shows Arrow, Gotham and The Flash are featured, as well as new addition Supergirl. With the show’s protagonist(s) in the forefront, the background of each cover also images from comics and of other characters. LEGO Unveils First Look at BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Batmobile Set
It was previously confirmed that LEGO will be releasing sets based on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice next year, as part of its 2016 DC Superheroes lineup. Now, we have a first look at one of these sets, which will be on display at San Diego Comic-Con next week. Via Wall Street Journal, LEGO has revealed a Batman v Superman set featuring the Batmobile. The set, which also features a Batman minifigure, will be on display at SDCC. Consumers can purchase it beginning January 1st, 2016. GOTHAM Casts Cannibalistic Villain for Season Two
With production on Gotham‘s second season underway, we have more casting news regarding a new villain for the show. According to Zap2it, Battle Creek actor Dustin Ybarra is set to play Robert Greenwood, an Arkham Asylum patient who is a cannibal. This will be a recurring role for the season. Greenwood, who appears to be an original creation for the show, is described as “a homicidal cannibal currently locked up in Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane after he was found guilty of murdering and eating more than a dozen women. … His appetite for murder is only surpassed by, well, his appetite.” This guy sounds like quite the charmer. Funko Reveals Comic-Con Exclusive BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Figures
Funko is bringing many exclusive vinyl figures and other merch to San Diego Comic-Con next week, and its latest reveal should please DC movie fans. As a part of the final wave of SDCC exclusives, Funko has unveiled a Pop! Heroes two-figure set for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The two figures, of course, are of Batman and Superman. These are the first official action figures for the film to be revealed. The Batman figure features him with a Batarang in hand, while the Superman one depicts the Man of Steel in an iconic pose. Warner Bros. Moves Vertigo Films to New Line Cinema; JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Going Forward Without Guillermo del Toro
With Warner Bros. focused on creating its DC Cinematic Universe, there have been some questions by fans regarding potential Vertigo adaptations, such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Sandman. How would these films fit in with the rest of the studio’s comic book plans? Now, we have an answer. According to Deadline, WB is moving its Vertigo movies, such as Sandman, over to sister studio New Line Cinema. Production on TNT’s TITANS Pilot Reportedly Delayed to Fall 2015
The last update we heard on TNT’s Titans, the potential series was targeting a summer 2015 production start date, with casting news to come even sooner. However, it looks like the DC Comics adaptation – rumored to be titled Blackbirds – has hit another delay. According to Season Zero, production on Titans has been pushed to October of this year. It is expected to film in Toronto. However, the site says that the pilot is “still very much in the mix,” despite the delay. With series like The Walking Dead, The Flash and Arrow as examples of a leap in quality for books and comic-book adaptations on television this decade, it was almost surprising that producer Joseph Gordon-Levitt decided to take Neil Gaiman’s Sandman on as a movie project. San Diego Comic-Con 2015 unveiled its schedule for Saturday, July 11th today, and included is DC Entertainment’s night of superhero television.
