TWILIGHT's Alex Meraz Joins The Cast of SUICIDE SQUAD

Production on Suicide Squad is well underway in Toronto. Despite this, Warner Bros.' DC Comics adaptation is still adding to its impressive ensemble cast.

According to Variety, The Twilight Saga actor Alex Meraz has signed on to appear in the supervillain film. His role in the movie is, unsurprisingly, not known. It is also unspecified how big of a role he has. Fans are already speculating that it could be Dick Grayson/Nightwing or Jason Todd/Red Hood, among others. But don't be surprised if it is neither of those characters.

Regardless, Meraz confirmed the casting on his Twitter, affirming that he will be filming in Toronto "...for the summer!" He also teased preparation for his role by training at gun ranges. Stay tuned for more as we have it.

Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5th, 2016. The third installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Karen Fu…

SUPERGIRL Expected to Be Ordered to Series; The CW to Premiere First ARROW/FLASH Spin-Off Footage Next Month

The more time that passes the more I've come to think of TV Pilot season like the NFL Draft with sites like Variety like the talking heads on ESPN.  To run with that metaphor, the last few years DC Entertainment have become the perennial powerhouse school that cranks out NFL talent in every year's draft.
Among this year's crop of hopefuls are Supergirl and the officially unnamed Flash/Arrow Spinoff.  Both shows have the weight of Warner TV, DC and Greg Berlanti behind them, and both have picked up quite a bit of buzz.

First up, is the Flash/Arrow spin-off that is in development for the CW:The series starring Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill and Caity Lotz will have a first-look trailer at the CW upfront presentation in May.

As for the Maiden of Might, there had been rumblings that CBS might let the series go over to the CW alongside Flash and Arrow. However, this seems doubtful, as the show will likely be too expensive for the smaller network.  Something else to consider is that …

Behind The Scenes of Warner Bros.' Creation of The DC Cinematic Universe

After years of pleading from fans, Warner Bros. is finally crafting its own cinematic universe based on DC Comics. Beginning with Man of Steel in 2013, this universe will be further expanded with next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. These will be followed by Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, Cyborg, Green Lantern and a two-part Justice League epic. New solo films based on Batman and Superman are also in development. All of these films are expected to be released by 2020.

While this is surely an ambitious plan, it hasn't been without its bumps on the road. The Hollywood Reporter has published an article detailing the studio's process of crafting these movies, specifically Wonder Woman and Aquaman. For the former, WB hired five writers to draft separate scripts. Each scribe was given a treatment and assigned to write a first act. This helped the studio narrow them down to two writers: Jason Fuchs and an unnamed scribe. There was even int…

Looks Like [SPOILER] is Definitely Appearing in SUICIDE SQUAD

Production on Suicide Squad is now underway in Toronto, Ontario. The DC Comics adaptation will feature as the big screen debuts of characters such as Deadshot and Harley Quinn, while new iterations of Amanda Waller and The Joker are also featured. Suicide Squad is expected to be filled with many DC Universe villains, opening up that side of Warner Bros.' growing cinematic world, while Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will debut many of its heroes.

Speaking of that movie, rumor has it that at least one character from Batman v Superman will return for this film. That would not be surprising, as both DC movies are scheduled to release next year. And now, we have much more substantiation to those rumors, as a Dawn of Justice star has been spotted in Toronto, presumably on the set of Suicide Squad. Who is it?

[Warning: Possible Suicide SquadSPOILER Ahead.]
So, it looks like none other than Bruce Wayne/Batman, who will be played by Ben Affleck in Batman v Superman, will make an appear…

We've been waiting for this moment since the pilot aired last fall. No, not the battle between the Flash and the Reverse Flash, the arrival of Grodd! Now, CW offers up a preview for the May 5th episode, "Grodd Lives" which put the gorilla front and center.
The ultra-intelligent, telepathic ape has been teased from the start, with his shattered cage in the background as Barry and Dr. Wells surveyed the damage to STAR Labs.He was later shown in flashback in the episode "Plastique" and since then has been teased bit by tantalizing bit.Now we get to have a good long look with the following photos:

Alongside the pictures of Grodd facing off with Barry and Joe is a synopsis for the episode:

TNT's TITANS Pilot Reportedly Gets a New Title; Production to Begin This Summer

It was announced last year that TNT was developing the pilot Titans, which is based on DC Comics' Teen Titans. Since then, little else has been revealed. Geoff Johns said that the pilot would be filmed this year, while the lineup reportedly consists of Dick Grayson, Starfire, Raven, Hawk and Dove and Barbara Gordon. Otherwise, we haven't heard anything...until now.

According to Season Zero, the Titans pilot/potential series has a new name: Blackbirds. This is arguably a step down from the original title. But could this just be a working title, rather than the name that the final product will go with? Possibly.

Season Zero also says that production is expected to begin in Toronto this summer, with casting announcements imminent. TNT is holding its upfronts panel on May 13th, so we'll likely get an update there.

It is also being speculated that Colton Haynes' Roy Harper, who was written out of Arrow recently, could join the Titans Blackbirds series. If that show is in c…

Rumor: Is Common Playing AQUAMAN Villain Black Manta in SUICIDE SQUAD?

Recently, it was revealed that actor-rapper Common has joined the cast of Suicide Squad, which is currently undergoing production. At the time, it was unclear which role he would play. Was he finally being given the chance to play Green Lantern John Stewart after Justice League: Mortal was canned? Or is he playing another character? Rumor has it that it is the latter, and Common may be playing a fan-favorite villain from the comics.

According to JoBlo, Common might be playing none other than Black Manta, a frequent enemy of Aquaman. Manta has had connections to the Squad, as he turned down joining the team more than once in comic book lore. While we don't know if that will remain true for the film, it sounds like Manta won't have a huge role in Suicide Squad. Rather, he is being set up for a much larger presence in the Aquaman movie, which is set to hit theaters July 27th, 2018.

Of course, this news has yet to be confirmed officially, so take it with a pinch of salt for now. …

ARROW's David Ramsey Talks Diggle's Future

Arrow's David Ramsey appeared a few days back at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo and talked to fans about the show.Considering the sheer amount DC Comics Movie news and teases and controversy to hit the internet it seems this flew a bit under the radar.
Ramsey told fans about the final push of the season: he said that he and Felicity would strengthen their bond over the events that play out which we have already seen start to play out.He also said that the actions of Ra's al Ghul will continue to have an impact on season four and considering that Oliver has joined the League of Assassins to take the place of Ra's that's probably an understatement.
Ramsey also touched on the rumor that he was slated to become a Green Lantern saying the heart of the show has been the bond between Oliver, Diggle and Felicity and if he'd become a Green Lantern that might damage that dynamic.
When the talk turned to the upcoming season of Arrow, Ramsey gave fans some tidbits.Ramse…

First Official Look at Jared Leto as The Joker in SUICIDE SQUAD

Today, DC Comics celebrated the 75th anniversary of The Joker, arguably the most iconic comic book villain of all time. To commemorate this event, we finally have our first official look at the character's next big screen appearance: next summer's Suicide Squad, which is now undergoing production.

Writer-director David Ayer shared a first look at Jared Leto as the Clown Prince of Crime on Twitter, and the image definitely promises a radical new take. This Joker has tattoos all over his body and metallic teeth. Simply put, this will be a completely different Joker from the ones played by Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. And Leto already looks terrifying.

Check out the image below, and stay tuned for more as we have it.

EDGE OF TOMORROW Actor Franz Drameh Cast in THE FLASH/ARROW Spin-Off Series

While the untitled Arrow/The Flash spin-off series will unite several supporting characters from both shows, it will also introduce new characters Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter. Now, the CW series has cast its third mystery hero.

Edge of Tomorrow actor Franz Drameh has joined the cast of the spin-off, it has been announced. His character is currently being called Jay Jackson, "a former high school athlete who was injured in a debilitating accident. He has been scraping by as an auto mechanic, and will grow to have a surprising affiliation with the STAR Labs team."

It is highly likely that the Jay Jackson name is presently a cover for the alter ego of a DC Universe hero. Which one? That is unknown, though possibilities include Static Shock and Black Lightning.

Stay tuned for more as we have it. The untitled Flash/Arrow spin-off series may premiere in the 2015-2016 midseason.

Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment Announce Launch of "DC Super Hero Girls" for Fall 2015

Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have announced that they are partnering with Mattel to launch "DC Super Hero Girls," a new line of merchandising targeted specifically at young girls. These products will include action figures, digital content, television specials, LEGO sets and many more. The digital content will launch this fall, followed by action figures and more in 2016.
"DC Super Hero Girls" adapts iconic female characters such as Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl and Katana into "relatable" teenagers to young female fans. Stay tuned for more as we have it.

Common Joins The Cast of SUICIDE SQUAD in Unknown Role

Filming on Suicide Squad is now underway, but the highly anticipated DC Comics adaptation is still adding actors to its impressive ensemble cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest addition is none other than Oscar winner Common.

The rapper-turned-actor's character in Suicide Squad is currently unknown. However, he was once attached to play Green Lantern John Stewart in the canned Justice League: Mortal, a role he recently expressed interest in returning to. With that in mind, along with the recent report that the Green Lantern in the Justice League movies will be Stewart, perhaps Common will end up playing this character?

However, there are plenty of other characters that Common could play. Maybe he will play Black Manta to set up a larger role in 2018's Aquaman. Or he could be appearing as Bronze Tiger, or even Deathstroke. Or he may be playing somebody else entirely. We'll just have to wait and see.

Also - in response to previous rumors, THR affirms that S…

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Henry Cavill was at CinemaCon this week to promote his next movie, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and in an interview with MTV(transcription via CBM), he was inevitably asked about his return as the Man of Steel. Cavill affirmed that he has not seen the final film yet, but he hopes to "sometime this year." He then reveals that, despite assumption otherwise, Batman v Superman is technically NOT a sequel to Man of Steel.

"I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel," Cavill says, "This is Batman versus Superman, so it's a separate entity altogether. It's introducing the Batman character, and expanding upon this universe, which was kicked off by Man of Steel. It's an introduction to the [Batman] character, and ultimately an introduction to Justice League." So, while Dawn of Justice is a follow-up to Man of Steel in terms of continuing the story and expanding the universe, it shouldn't be considered Man of Stee…
