Jeremy Irons Praises BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Script; More from Jason Momoa on Playing Aquaman

A couple of interesting Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice interview tidbits have gone online. First up, Jeremy Irons – who plays Alfred Pennyworth – briefly comments on the DC superhero epic while speaking with La Nazione (translation via ComicBook.com) at the Lucca Film Festival. The Oscar winner praises the script, which was written by Chris Terrio, saying, “The next Batman has an amazing screenplay. It’s a blockbuster written from the heart.”

Irons is the latest actor to bring Alfred to the big screen, following Alan Napier (1966’s Batman), Michael Gough (the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher series) and Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Trilogy). It will be interesting to see what Irons offers as this new iteration of the character.

Meanwhile, Jason Momoa has talked more about playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman and other DC films in an interview with USA Today (transcription via Comic Book Resources). He reaffirms that he is happy to be doing movies that his children will be able to see, and he is also committed to this long-term role. He also praises director Zack Snyder. “I’m in for the long haul. It’s an honor. Zack [Snyder] had me at hello, literally when he told me what he wanted to do with the character and what he wanted to do with the world. There’s no script written yet for certain things, but I listen to his ideas; I trust him.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters March 25th, 2016. The second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by Chris Terrio.
