ARROW Casts J.R. Ramirez As Wildcat For Season 3 Recurring Role; Kelly Frye To Play Plastique On THE FLASH
A couple of casting announcements for both Arrow‘s third season and The Flash spin-off have been made today. First up, according to Deadline, Power‘s J.R. Ramirez is set to play Ted Grant, aka Wildcat. Described as a recurring role, Wildcat is known in the comics for training a number of characters, including Black Canary. On Arrow, Grant is “a former boxer who now runs a gym for underprivileged youth. A man with a mysterious past, he will play a pivotal role in Laurel Lance’s arc this season.” It’s safe to assume that Laurel will make significant process in her transition to Black Canary this season. New Extended Trailer Confirms ARROW’s Season 3 Big Bad; Wildcat Set To Appear
DC Entertainment held its big panel for its 2014 television shows last night at Comic-Con, and we got a couple of awesome Arrow tidbits. First up, Season 3 of the hit CW series will feature Ted Grant, aka Wildcat. The character will interact with Laurel. Of course, Grant is known for training Lance in the comics to become the Black Canary, and it is expected that this season will see Laurel come much closer to officially adopting the persona. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice made a “surprise” appearance at the beginning of Warner Bros.’ Comic-Con panel today. Director Zack Snyder came on stage, along with actors Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice just made its presence felt at Warner Bros.’ San Diego Comic-Con panel. Highlights on what went down will be up on Watchtower following the panel’s conclusion, but in the meantime, we have some amazing new imagery. After being shown at SDCC, the first image of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman has been released. Needless to say, Diana Prince looks like she was ripped straight out of the comics, not unlike Batman and Superman. Comic-Con Trailer For ARROW Season 3 Released; New Promo From THE FLASH
At last night’s Comic-Con panel for Arrow, the first footage from the series’ highly anticipated third season was shown and then released online. The trailer offers first looks at a number of new elements for this season, including Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer, Peter Stormare’s Count Vertigo and the new Hong Kong setting in the flashbacks. The footage also teases concerning injuries inflicted upon one of the show’s biggest characters, as well as the return of a famous catchphrase from The Arrow. DC Announces Its Animated Movie Slate For 2015
At last night’s Comic-Con panel for the premiere of DC’s next animated film, Batman: Assault on Arkham, the company confirmed its lineup for 2015. As previously confirmed, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis will be released early in the year. A sequel to Justice League: War, this film adapts the excellent “Throne of Atlantis” story arc by Geoff Johns. Next, we have yet another Batman title, Batman vs. Robin. Set to be released Summer 2015, this one features the Court of Owls from Scott Snyder’s terrific New 52 run. With Warner Bros. expected to announce its plans for future DC films tomorrow, we have a major update on the long-awaited Justice League movie. According to Deadline, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice scribe Chris Terrio is being courted by the studio to return for the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe, which officially brings DC’s biggest heroes together. It has been a while since we’ve heard anything regarding Guillermo del Toro’s Justice League Dark adaptation, which is tentatively titled Dark Universe. Due to the slow development and the director’s commitments to other projects, fans have had low expectations for the film actually coming together. Now, however, del Toro reaffirms that he is still working on the project. In an interview with SuperHeroHype, the Pacific Rim director was asked if his movie will be linked to Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Sandman adaptation or any of DC’s more mainstream films, such as Justice League.
