Potential New BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Details Regarding Wonder Woman’s Costume, Lex Luthor’s Motivation, And More

With filming on Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice underway, more details are leaking online. The latest come from JoBlo, who most interestingly offers a description of Wonder Woman’s costume. According to the site, Diana Prince’s “battle ready” is said to be ripped right out of the comics, and “traditional, yet sleeker”. Wonder Woman’s suit will consist of, “a blue leather skirt, silver-armored cuffs that reach to her elbows, golden tiara (with a design of some sort in the center, possibly the red star) and a variation of the traditional-looking red top (no word on additional armor on it).” Overall, her costume apparently fits the Amazonian warrior princess description like a glove, and Warner Bros. is already receiving extremely positive responses from the few who have seen it. Finally, Wonder Woman will wield a sword, shield, spear, and yes, the golden Lasso of Truth.

As for Wonder Woman’s presence in Batman v. Superman, JoBlo affirms that Gal Gadot will first appear as “Diana” in the film, and will have a “fair” amount of screentime. She will later suit up as Wonder Woman and team up with Superman and Batman to fight the secondary villain, who is rumored to be Doomsday or Metallo. Her origin will be vague in this film, and is featured to show that other heroes beyond Superman exist in this world.

Additionally, we have new details on Ben Affleck’s Batman. This older, more experienced version of the Dark Knight is reported to be, “a veteran crime fighter that will do anything it takes to get the job done.” Meanwhile, Henry Cavill’s Superman is one more likely to follow rules. Thus, this causes the two heroes to not see eye-to-eye, and is a dynamic consistently shown in their partnership at first. And while Wayne Manor does exist, Bruce Wayne opts to live in a “modern-looking cottage by a lake” that is on the property. The Batcave is underneath the cottage, and houses the Batmobile, Batwing, batarangs, and more. This iteration of Batman is rumored to be semi-retired when we first see him. Could his decision to reside in a cottage rather than Wayne Manor be a sign of that?

Finally, we have info on the motivations of Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor. According to JoBlo, the man behind LexCorp believes he is the perfect human being and God’s gift to humanity. So, when he witnesses Superman’s god-like abilities, he feels inferior. As a result, Luthor succeeds in swaying people against the Man of Steel. Superman does have his supporters – indicated by the building of a massive statue in his honor – but there are a number of people who also think he is a huge threat. This description of Lex sounds rather spot on, and is consistent with past incarnations of the character.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. A follow-up to Man of Steel, the second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
