ARGO’s Scoot McNairy Joins BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Cast As…Somebody

Filming for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is underway, but we now have yet another addition to its impressive ensemble cast. According to Deadline, actor Scoot McNairy has joined the Man of Steel sequel. He reunites with Ben Affleck, with whom he shared the screen in Argo and the upcoming Gone Girl, as well as Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio. It is unknown which character McNairy is playing, as Warner Bros. refuses to confirm his role.

Naturally, speculation suggests that he could be playing another Justice League member. Green Lantern and The Flash are the two remaining League members left to be cast (that we know of), so McNairy just might be playing one of those two. Nightwing is another possibility, as Dick Grayson is rumored to have a minor role in Dawn of Justice. However, at 36, McNairy may be too old for the former Robin, depending on how the DC Cinematic Universe will portray that character. We’ll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. A follow-up to Man of Steel, the second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
