Weta Working On Visuals For BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE; First Look At Henry Cavill As Clark Kent On Set

We have a couple of new tidbits regarding Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. First up, Weta visual effects supervisors Joe Letteri and Dan Lemmon have confirmed to Colliderthat the company is working on the next DC Comics adaptation. "We are working on the Man of Steel sequel, yes… We can’t say much more than that, but we’re excited." Weta previously worked on the Krypton opening sequence in Man of Steel, and is known for its work in franchises such as Lord of the Rings and Planet of the Apes. So, it will be exciting to see what they bring to the table for Batman v. Superman. For an update on The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, click the link above.

In other Dawn of Justice news, we have an official glimpse of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent on the set of the film. New Details On ARROW Season 3 Villain "Seth"

Among the four new characters being introduced in Arrow's third season is a villain named "Seth". The role is described as a criminal who uses a drug to drain his enemies of willpower. It's likely that Seth is merely a name used just for this casting call, and that the character will have a different (and more familiar) alias on the show. Now, we have more info on this villain.

According to TV Line, the casting call for Seth has been changed slightly, and it includes intriguing new details. The character is now described as, "a “shade of a man” with a quiet intensity, a “criminal mastermind who whistles classical music” as he goes about his devious business. There’s also talk of him having “reptilian eyes.” Whomever he is, he will be the Big Bad for the season opener." There are several DC villains who fit the reptilian description, such as King Snake and Copperhead. Could one or both of these foes be adapted into the world of Arrow this season? Hopefully,…

Title Of DC's Aquaman-Centric Animated Movie Confirmed

Following the post-credits scene of Justice League: War, a follow-up featuring Atlantis has been planned. It was previously reported that this film will, obviously, focus on Aquaman, and that Sam Witwer will voice his villainous brother, Orm. Naturally, it has been widely speculated that this latest film from DC's animated line will be an adaptation of the "Throne of Atlantis" arc in the New 52. Now, it looks to be just that.
Thanks to World's Finest Online, we have the back cover of this August's Batman: Assault on Arkham. It includes a list of bonus features, and among these is a sneak peek at the next DC film: Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. This and other animated films are expected to be announced formally at San Diego Comic-Con next month. A release date for Justice League: Throne of Atlantis has yet to be set, but an early 2015 debut is likely. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

ARGO's Scoot McNairy Joins BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Cast As...Somebody

Filming for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is underway, but we now have yet another addition to its impressive ensemble cast. According to Deadline, actor Scoot McNairy has joined the Man of Steel sequel. He reunites with Ben Affleck, with whom he shared the screen in Argo and the upcoming Gone Girl, as well as Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio. It is unknown which character McNairy is playing, as Warner Bros. refuses to confirm his role.

Naturally, speculation suggests that he could be playing another Justice League member. Green Lantern and The Flash are the two remaining League members left to be cast (that we know of), so McNairy just might be playing one of those two. Nightwing is another possibility, as Dick Grayson is rumored to have a minor role in Dawn of Justice. However, at 36, McNairy may be too old for the former Robin, depending on how the DC Cinematic Universe will portray that character. We'll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Steven McQueen Addresses Nightwing Rumors And His Love For The Character

The Vampire Diaries' Steven R. McQueen has made his love for Nightwing no secret. The actor has been campaigning for the role for some time, hoping to bring Dick Grayson to the world of Arrow. This has led to speculation that McQueen is actually up for the part in the CW series. Now, he has clarified those rumors. Speaking with The Wrap, McQueen reaffirmed his love of superheroes, particularly Nightwing. He then confirmed that he has not been offered the role of the former Robin (yet), and his initial tweet to Arrow's Greg Berlanti about it - which included the above image - was merely a joke that sites have run with. Finally, McQueen says that (obviously) he will jump at the chance to play Nightwing or any other superhero, despite his involvement with The Vampire Diaries. You can watch his full interview with The Wrap below. Do you wish to see Steven McQueen as Nightwing on Arrow?

Potential New BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Details Regarding Wonder Woman's Costume, Lex Luthor's Motivation, And More

With filming on Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice underway, more details are leaking online. The latest come from JoBlo, who most interestingly offers a description of Wonder Woman's costume. According to the site, Diana Prince's "battle ready" is said to be ripped right out of the comics, and "traditional, yet sleeker". Wonder Woman's suit will consist of, "a blue leather skirt, silver-armored cuffs that reach to her elbows, golden tiara (with a design of some sort in the center, possibly the red star) and a variation of the traditional-looking red top (no word on additional armor on it)." Overall, her costume apparently fits the Amazonian warrior princess description like a glove, and Warner Bros. is already receiving extremely positive responses from the few who have seen it. Finally, Wonder Woman will wield a sword, shield, spear, and yes, the golden Lasso of Truth.

As for Wonder Woman's presence in Batman v. Superman, JoBlo affirms…

Rumor: First Footage From BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE To Be Screened At Comic-Con Next Month

Warner Bros. and DC are expected to have a major presence at San Diego Comic-Con next month. Recently, it was reported that they will announce a slew of new DC films, including Justice League, Shazam, Wonder Woman, and a Flash-Green Lantern team-up. Other announcements, such as the full Justice League cast, have been speculated. Now, we have a new rumor to throw in.

According to Latino-Review's El Mayimbe, rumor has it that the first footage from Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be shown at WB's SDCC panel. No details are known regarding what exactly the clip will contain, but it should clearly be exciting. It may also be a bit surprising that footage will be shown already, since the movie is currently filming and won't be in theaters until May 2016. But if recent reports are any indication, we are in for a real treat come July. Stay tuned for more Batman v. Superman news as we have it.

Daniel Radcliffe Expresses Interest In Playing The BATMAN Reboot's Robin

After headlining Warner Bros.' most successful franchise, Harry Potter, actor Daniel Radcliffe is now interested in joining the DC Universe. During a Q&A session with Buzzfeed(thanks to Digital Spyfor the transcription), he namedropped a reboot Batman series as another franchise he would like to be a part of. "[I'd love to be in] Batman. If they reboot that again, I'll do that too." As for which character, however? After acknowledging that Ben Affleck is playing a relaunched version of the Dark Knight, Radcliffe suggests that he would be "perfect" for the role of Robin. "It's happening, isn't it? With Ben Affleck. I could be Robin, I'm perfect."

Dick Grayson is rumored to be making a minor appearance in 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but he is expected to be Nightwing by this point, given the older Caped Crusader. However, with WB reportedly planning on giving Affleck his own inevitable Batman film in 2019, a…

Set in the same universe as the Arkham video game franchise, the story follows the Suicide Squad and Batman (Kevin Conroy) crossing paths when the Joker (Troy Baker) causes mayhem at Arkham Asylum. These images feature Batman coming face-to-face with Squad member King Shark (John DiMaggio), as well as Killer Frost (Jennifer Hale) and Joker. Expect to see more on this film soon; perhaps it will premiere at San Diego Comic-Con next month? Batman: Assault on Arkham hits stores August 18th.

BATMAN UNLIMITED Is Actually An Upcoming Direct-To-Video Animated Feature

This week, an image from the 2014 Licensing Expo showcased a promo for...something related to Batman. The banner looked to be for yet another animated series starring the Caped Crusader, titled Batman Unlimited. However, it used the Batman logo for a toyline, so speculation turned to it being some sort of tie-in. Now, we have an answer. Sources tell Legions of Gotham that Batman Unlimited is actually a direct-to-home video animated film, not unlike the recently released JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time. There is no word on when this feature will be available, but hopefully, details will come shortly.

Warner Bros. Reportedly Planning Next Batman Solo Film In 2019; Working Title Revealed

Batman will be featured prominently in 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017's Justice League, and will be played by Ben Affleck in both. Recently, a list of DC films spanning from 2016 to 2018 was leaked online, but a solo Batman film was noticeably missing. Now, we know why. According to Latino-Review, Warner Bros. is planning to release the Dark Knight's next standalone outing in 2019. Also, the working title is said to be The Batman. Of course, anything can change within five years, but this move makes sense.

Batman v. Superman is expected to complete production by December this year. And after a holiday break, Justice League will begin that winter. Then, during Summer 2015, Affleck will likely film his next directorial effort, Live by Night, which is scheduled for October 2016. If The Batman releases in 2019, then production will probably begin in 2017 or 2018. So, a screenplay can be written in between the releases of Live by Night and Justice League, i…

Jason Momoa Still Refusing To Talk About Playing Aquaman

Recently, trades Variety and The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Jason Momoa has been cast as Aquaman for a minor appearance in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, before getting a bigger role in Justice League. This comes after the Game of Thrones actor denied these rumors in typical Hollywood fashion. And during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel last night, Momoa is still playing coy.

At first, Momoa rehashes that his playing Aquaman is only a rumor. But when Kimmel shows him a copy of Variety's article reporting his casting, he simply says that it would be "pretty exciting" and that fans simply have to "wait and see." It's certainly a different tone from past denials, when he aggressively weighed in on the chances of his playing the King of Atlantis. Now, all we need is an official announcement from Warner Bros. Hopefully, the studio will announce this and other Justice League casting news at Comic-Con next month. For Momoa's full interview with Kim…

Fox has released a new promo for its highly anticipated series Gotham. Featuring new footage from the show, this advertisement focuses on the villainous Fish Mooney, as well as future Batman foes Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin). These antagonists will come head-to-head with Detectives Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock throughout the series. Reception to a recent screening of the pilot has been very positive, increasing anticipation for its fall premiere on Fox. Stay tuned for more Gotham news as we have it.

Possible Details On BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE's Lex Luthor And LexCorp; Holly Hunter And Tao Okamato's Characters Revealed?

Jesse Eisenberg finally began filming his scenes as Lex Luthor for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice recently, and we now have details on his character's appearance. A source forBatman-Newsanswers the question everyone was asking: Is Eisenberg's Luthor bald? And, according to the site's source, he is not. In fact, he has a "lot of hair", which is described as "a bit longer, kind of loose and wavy, and it’s dirty blonde. Eisenberg’s Luthor has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day." Batman-News adds that these scenes occur around the beginning of the film, so it's very possible that Luthor will go bald later on.

The site has also heard that the interior of LexCorp contains a basketball court in the lobby, with a 30 foot neon LexCorp industries sign. Finally, the source reveals that actress Holly Hunter is playing a United States senator in Dawn of Justice. She was previously rumored to be playing a Leslie Th…

Is This A Promo Banner For A New Batman Animated Series?

Despite Batman's big success in the animation world, his latest television incarnation, Beware the Batman, had a lukewarm reception. It didn't help that Cartoon Network randomly pulled it off the air last fall, and will air the remainder of the series this summer on a 3 AM slot. With the show being a misfire, when will the Dark Knight headline his next animated series? If the following is any indication, it could be sooner than later.

Spotted at Licensing Expo 2014 (via Reddit), this banner features a new animated Batman alongside the title Batman Unlimited. One's first assumption would be that this is for another animated series. However, it's worth noting that the logo used here is one for a Batman toyline, whose products are currently sold at Wal-Mart and Target. Could this banner just be a new promotional piece for the toyline, or even an animated show in conjunction with it? No further details are known, so this can easily go either way. Stay tuned for more news a…

Stephen Amell Voicing Green Arrow In Another DC Video Game

Stephen Amell has made his love for the Green Arrow character no secret. The actor currently stars as Oliver Queen on The CW's Arrow series, earning much praise for his performance. He went on to voice the Arrow-themed skin for Green Arrow in the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game. And now, Amell is again portraying the character in a game. In response to a question asked by a fan on his Facebook page, he revealed that he was doing voice work for the Emerald Archer for an installment in a "popular" DC video game series.

Of course, the door is open for several franchises. Could Amell be voicing Arrow in Batman: Arkham Knight? LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham? Or could he be reprising the role for the recently confirmed Injustice sequel? We'll have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

NAPOLEON DYNAMITE Star Jon Heder Wants To Play Aquaman

Aquaman is finally planning to make his big screen debut soon, with a cameo in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and then a bigger role in the Justice League film. Jason Momoa has reportedly been cast as the King of Atlantis, but we have another actor who is interested. Speaking with Daily Mail, Jon Heder - best known for his lead role in Napoleon Dynamite - has expressed interest in playing Aquaman. "I would totally love to play Aquaman, especially if they wanted me for the role and thought I had a good enough body. 'I can breathe under water for a little bit, I can hold my breathe for a few minutes in the audition...'" He then states that he is a fan of the comic book movie genre, and would love to land a role in an installment. "No, seriously, I love the superhero genre and I'm very interested in doing a big budget studio version."

Again, however, with Momoa said to be on board for playing Aquaman, Heder's chances are very slim, especially wit…

BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Tidbits: Purpose Behind Giant Superman Statue, New Details On Batmobile, [REDACTED] Cameo Described

Recently, an unfinished giant statue of Superman was spotted on the set of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. This has led to much speculation concerning why it is in the movie, from the statue being built in memory of his saving Earth in Man of Steel or even the possibility of his "dying" at the end of the movie. Now, it looks like it's the former. According to Batman-News, the Superman statue was built in honor of the character's victory over Zod and his army, and that the statue is unveiled in a "big" press conference scene. The site also reveals that Dawn of Justice takes place two years after Man of Steel, and that, "Gotham and Metropolis news trucks and helicopters were on the scene to cover the Mayor’s speech and the statue unveiling. Elementary school kids wore “Superman Survivors” shirts and helped pull a sheet off the statue for the big reveal. They also released real doves to celebrate statue unveiling." Additionally, the statue is i…

Jason Momoa Reportedly Set To Play Aquaman; New Details On His BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Cameo

For some time, Jason Momoa has been rumored for a role in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The most frequent of these linked the Game of Thrones actor to the part of Aquaman, who is expected to cameo in the film to set up the planned Justice League movie. Now, a reliable news source has confirmed this news. According to HitFix, Momoa is indeed playing Aquaman, despite his denials. Director Zack Snyder has finalized his designs for the King of Atlantis, so filming will occur soon.

As for how Aquaman will factor into Dawn of Justice, HitFix affirmed that a prior rumor is indeed true. While the site is unsure whether he will actually be called Aquaman in the movie, he is said to be displeased with the World Engine's destruction of the Indian Ocean in Man of Steel. Again, this is just a minor appearance that sets up a bigger role in Justice League, which is reportedly set for a May 2017 release. HitFix also reveals that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor will use the destruction of…
